Teach the method, properly
We train every teacher ourselves, from the first bead to the tenth level. You do not need an abacus background — 6 of our 10 teachers came from school teaching, and 2 from being a parent in the programme.
Who we look for
Patience before speed
The job is correcting the same finger movement fifty times without sounding tired of it.
Comfortable with parents
You will write the level report and explain it at the door. Clear, honest, no jargon.
Graduate, any stream
A degree and sound arithmetic. B.Ed or prior teaching helps but is not required.
Available at children's hours
Late afternoons and Saturday mornings are when classes run. Part-time is normal here.
Certification takes eight weeks
Paid from week five, when you start assisting

Weeks 1–4
Learn the ten levels yourself
You work through the full student curriculum and sit the same assessments, so you know where it gets hard.

Weeks 5–7
Assist a live batch
Alongside a senior teacher, taking small groups and marking practice under supervision.
03
Week 8
Teach-back and certification
You take a full class observed. Pass, and you are certified and assigned your own batch.
